There are many, many sources of info in the Heights but it can be hard to keep track of them all. Facebook has more than 10 groups devoted to Goodyear Heights community affairs. Here you’ll find just the good stuff including information on upcoming events, proposed development projects, how to contact your representatives, join a community group, and where to go for help on a range of neighborhood topics.
Supporting Local Businesses
Goodyear Heights is home to many business districts, such as those along Newton, Pioneer, Goodyear, The Brooklands, Six Corners, and Darrow Rd. In addition, several independent businesses are sprinkled throughout the neighborhood. Strong businesses strengthen the community, so please show a little love whenever you can.
Empowering Residents
Goodyear Heights is at its core, a historic neighborhood in Akron that has expanded and now includes 10,000 homes and over 18,000 residents. If you want to form a club, it is difficult to get the word out to like minded individuals - especially if they don’t use social media. If you have a small business, it can be hard to reach your customers.
GoodyearHeights.org is a digital town square where everyone from a kid mowing yards in the summer, to a group of knitters, to the corner pizza shop, can have a spot to announce services & events to a broader audience.
